Teaching skills intensive in Copenhagen may and june 2012

In 2012 we welcome Godfrey Devereux and Olivia crooks to Copenhagen for the teaching skills intensive. This is an invaluable opportunity to study with one of Europe’s most experienced teachers through a thoroughly tested teaching format. Godfrey and Olivia have trained hundreds of teachers all over Europe and have extensive experience in working with trained and trainee teachers. The teaching skills intensive consists of two 4-day (32-hour) modules spread over a period of 2 months. Dynamic Yoga teacher Training is approved by the Independent Yoga Network and may allow you to upgrade your present teacher training with The Yoga Register as a professionally qualified yoga teacher (Provided of course you have the required number of hours).

Provisional day program (8.00-17.30)

Morning session (5 hours) Godfrey teaches a guided practice which will include pranayama, asana and meditation. After the class Godfrey will go through the theory behind the practice and present techniques and explain the teaching methodology.

Afternoon session (3 hours) In the first module this afternoon session will clarify teaching methods like teaching from the body (raher than from knowledge) vinyasa krama (progressive instructon), somatic education and the simplicity of teaching yoga from physical actions rather than from their impacts. In the second module students will be teaching in small groups and will recieve feedback from Godfrey and Olivia. If you are not comfortable with teaching in english you can teach in Danish and recieve feed back from Birgitte Gorm Hansen and other Danish Dynamic yoga teachers along with Godfrey and Olivia.

Between modules: Each module comes with its own teaching material. This includes text files relating to the theory of practice behind each module. Also you will recieve image files with practice series and sound files with talks and guided classes to use in your own practice. For those who are interested Birgitte Gorm Hansen will organize teaching practice sessions where students experiment with the Dynamic Yogs Teaching Method and get feedback.
