This is the last of three workshops introducing the 7 universal actions behind yoga posture practice (asana). The morning class will introduce the basic principles for activating the spine through a dynamic flow of yoga posures engaging the whole of your body. The class is based on a special vinyasa practice series (vinyasasamerasya). This sequence of yoga postures establishes deep, strength in the core spinal muscles, while integrating the supporting joints of the upper and lower body. It is a challenging but accessible practice focusing on seated extensions and rotations and nourishes body and mind. The morning class ends in a long relaxation followed by seated meditation.
The afternon will clarify the principles used in the morning practice through practical exploration on your mat. The day ends with a gentle, quiet class that softens the muscles around the spine and the core of the body.
After the workshop you will recieve an image file with the vinyasasamerasya series to support you in practicing it at home.
This workshop trilogy runs over three saturdays and is open to all. Beginners will recieve a solid and safe foundation for starting yoga posture practice. Experienced studetnts and yoga teachers will increase their sensitivity and gain a deeper understanding of how the seemingly separable parts of the body work together as a whole. Each workshop is based on a corrosponding vinyasa training series which allows you safely continue the practice on your own mat.
