    2 workshops: OpenFlow Yoga and the sensory compass

    In yoga we are often encouraged to listen to our body, but not always supported in inquiring further about what that means for us. What sensations should we just surrender to and what sensations call for action and change? How do we learn to recognize and feel what happens in the body more clearly and deeply? What are the benefits of placing sensitivity to physical sensation at the heart of your practice?

    Join the inquiry in this urban retreat with two slow-flowing yoga classes. Book as a 6-hour mini course or just pop by for individual classes. Max 10 people in each class to ensure time for detailed instruction sensitive to the needs of your body.

    The classes are especially suited to those with an interest in the subtle, fluid and meditative aspects of yoga posture practice.

    The retreat takes place in Brigitte’s private yoga studio in Sluseholmen with a beautiful view to the sky and the water. If you want to combine the classes with a walk in nature, an ocean dive or lunch at a café with a friend, there are plenty of good opportunities in the area. Birgitte will provide tea and a little snack after each class.

    Saturday April 25th 9.30-12.30Open Flow Sensitize

    A soft and continuous movement meditation, tuning you into your ability to feel physical sensation and inviting it to guide your movements. We will work with the principles of sensitization, moving from what we can feel rather than from what we can train ourselves to do. The class explores fluctuating, unwinding movements that hydrate and soften tissues while inviting you to reconnect with your inner teacher.

    Saturday April 25t 14.00-17.00: Open Flow Restore

    A quiet restorative practice where we stay close to the floor. We will use slow and gentle movements to release and soften the tissues and supported yoga postures to relax and release unnecessary tension. We will work with the principles of yielding to earth and engaging subtle pre-movements. The class will include a guided yoga Nidra and a seated meditation.

    Price: 298 DKR per workshop

    Urban Retreat: Nourish your body (only few spaces left)

    The dark Scandinavian winter months are natural invitations to dive deeper in the practice of yoga and meditation. This time of year often give us access to deeper resting states, and internal meditative inquiries. When you accept this invitation of winter to nourish your body and allow your mind to take some well-deserved rest, your yoga practice will naturally build the foundation from which to to grow as the light returns.

    This urban retreat will support you in nourishing your body at a cellular level with gently flowing or restorative yoga combined with short, guided meditations. You will be guided to let go of any agenda that may have imposed itself on your practice and explore the wisdom of your natural body and mind.

    Book as a 9-hour mini-course or just pop by for individual classes. Max 11 people in each class to ensure time for detailed instruction sensitive to the needs of your body. Classes taught in english or danish as required.

    A soft and continuous movement meditation, focusing on regenerative movements that awaken your nervous systems ability for self-regulation and invite deep rest in body and mind. The class explores both restorative postures and pleasure-based unwinding movements to relax, hydrate and sensitize your body and prepare your mind for rest and meditation. Toward the end of the class, we settle into savasana for a guided yoga nidra and close the practice with a seated meditation.

    Sunday the 8th 9.30-12.30:  Open Flow Support (sold out)

    A dynamic and meditative flow inviting you to find the connection with gravity and its ability to support your body as you slowly expand your movement repertoire and release unnecessary tension into the sense of being held. The class explores the possibility of extending soft movement into more muscular engagement while staying deeply intimate with the rhythms of breath and awareness. Toward the end of the class, we settle into savasana for a guided yoga nidra and return with seated meditation.

    Price: Full weekend 749 DKR. Single class 298 DKR

We will integrate the practices of yielding and sensitizing in open flows with more energizing movements such as osscilations and waves. The class may incorporate more classical yoga posture flows, giving it a sensitive and creative twist.

This urban retreat will take place in the beautiful Metropolis Yoga Shala at Sluseholmen, an undisturbed city space with plenty of open sky, ocean view and nature walks just around the corner. Each day we will dive deeper into yoga posture flows, myofascial release and seated meditation, allowing you to tune into the subtle delight of being deeply present in the body. Parts of the retreat will take place in practical silence, giving you the opportunity to go deep within. The urban retreat is open to all from beginners to the most advanced. All classes will be taught in Danish or English as required.

    Terms and conditions: Booking a yoga workshop is like buying a ticket for a concert. Your booking is valid and binding from the day your payment is recieved. We do not give refunds or transfer the workshop to later events if you cancel. Only if there is a waiting list for the workshop can we provide assistance with selling your space. You are of course free to sell your space on your own if you can´t make it to the workshop, all we need is contact information on the new participant.

    A three-part workshop open to all. Our common sense understanding of the words “yoga” and “meditation” suggest that they are two separate things: One of the body and one of the mind. But as we go deeper into the practice either one, we find a deeper unity at their core.

    Saturday 10.00-13.00: Asana as Meditation
    A dynamic yoga class exploring sensitive movement as  meditation in action.

    Saturday 14.30-17.30: Meditation as Asana
    Alternations between seated meditation periods and supine yoga posture flows releasing tension.

    Sunday 10.00-13.00: Breathing into stilness
    A dynamic, sensitive yoga posture flow releasing the free rythm of the breath (svaramukta). The class makes a seamless transiton to a seated meditation practice towards the end.

    We offer donation-based accomodation for up to 4 students during the retreat if you are travelling from outside Copenhagen.

    The urban retreat is open to all from beginners to the most advanced. All classes will be taught in Danish or English as required. All clases are taught by Birgitte

    Saturday & Sunday 9.00-12.00: Pranayama session, flowing yoga posture practice, seated meditation
