This workshop is the second out of three introducing the 7 universal actions supporting yoga posture practice (asana). The morning class will teach the basic principles for activating the feet and legs. The class is based on a special vinyasa training series (vinyasachandrasya). The practice strengthens all the motor muscles and mobilises all the motor joints while developing and quietening respiration. It is a dynamic but deeply nourishing practice that recalibrates the sensory motor pathways especially in the feet, legs and pelvis. This will help you protect vulnrable joints like those of the knee and lower back and set the foundation for all standing postures. The morning session ends in deep relaxation and seated meditation.
The afternoon session will clarify the principles behind the mornings class through a series of guided explorations on your mat. The day ends in a gentle flowing class which opens the hips and stabilizes the pelvis.
After the workshop you will recieve an image file with the vinyasachandrasya series, to support you in practicing it on your own.
This workshop trilogy runs over three saturdays and is open to all. Beginners will recieve a solid and safe foundation for starting yoga posture practice. Experienced studetnts and yoga teachers will increase their sensitivity and gain a deeper understanding of how the seemingly separable parts of the body work together as a whole. Each workshop is based on a vinyasa training series which allows you safely continue the practice on your own mat.
